EU citizens do not need a visa or residence permit to enter the Republic of Slovenia. Entry is permitted on the basis of a valid identity card or a valid passport. EU citizens who wish to reside in the Republic of Slovenia for a period longer than three months may apply for a residence registration certificate.
Non-EU citizens may reside in the territory of the Republic of Slovenia without a residence permit for three months (90 days) from the date of entering the country. For a longer stay, they must apply for a residence permit prior to the expiration date of the authorised 90-day stay.
